Jordan In Chicago...

So a couple days ago I got into Chicago to spend the weeks here at Tommy Daddono's house.  I graduated Sunday and had nothing better to do this week so I figured I'd get here early, because a bunch of other guys are coming later for the weekend.  We've been riding a lil bit and working at the Sky High office a little bit too haha. I'm gonna be taking a job here all summer working for Sky High, hopefully it'll blow up while I'm down here.

On Friday I'm heading back to good ol Iowa to pick up Zach Johnston and bring him back here to ride during the weekend.  Dylan Kasson, Elmer Ferrieras and Hep Greg are all coming Friday too, as well as Josh Young and Kelly Bmezalsdkfjasdlf.  Spencer Steed might be here too?  Not sure on that.  But uh yeah we're all gonna go ride street cuz thats what you do when Mr. Proto Kasson comes to town. Hopefully Matt Rittler will be around too, theres a 10 stair rail in Chicago with his name on it, hes gotta go back for some revenge there. Tommy and I still gotta plan out Transit 3 and the Milwaukee comp, we'll probably get to that tomorrow.  I guess thats its for now, check back soon and check back often.

Shapoopy

Some great riding from Kirk, Justin, and Jeff. I really liked the chill vibe this video gave off. Jeff's 360 nose bonk and Inward were great. Props to Justin on that handrail and fingerwhip air too, he just recently got those for the first time the other day.

Click below and enjoy.

Scooter WIIL

Scooter WIIL is a video made by a bunch of Chicago/Wisconsin (WIsconsin and ILlinois if you don't understand the name) riders when Jeff Mroz, AJ Lohens, and Justin Lacosse tripped it up to Wisconsin to ride Racine, Basik, and Milwaukee 4 Seasons.  Tons of shredding by tons of different riders, pretty good stuff by everyone.  Check out Jeff with the epic snake at 7:13.  Almost Yemmish status.

Ohio Boyz!

Worked all weekend on this.  Features a bunch of footage from a bunch of great midwest riders who all met up last weekend to ride during the Easter break.  Credit to myself, Spencer, and Josh for filming.  All the clips that I filmed of myself are going into a Blunt edit which hopefully should be out this week.   Hope you guys enjoy it!

JIT

Had a lot of fun making this with Tommy and Issac. Staying up till 4 am, eating cookie dough ice cream straight from the bucket, taco bell runs at midnight, getting kicked out of seemingly every spot in Chicago. Definitely can't wait to go back and do it again.

Ohio Trip Summary and Sky High Promo by Josh Young

Some of the bros at Ohio Dreams.  That's Spencer Steed bending down with the camera.

Josh Young posted a pretty good recap of everything that went down this weekend in Columbus, Ohio over on the Lit blog.  Some of the highlights include girl's panties, getting yelled at by cops, attempting 3 (yes 3) times to bust an online predator, pictures of the Big and Baby Bitch asleep in the lobby in the hotel and of course some scooter riding.  Josh sent me a flash drive with the footy from his t2i camera yesterday and so I'll be working on combining that with the clips from my VX2100 into a sick montage soon.  Get hypeedddd!

Josh also recently got hooked up by Tdadd and is now on the Sky High discount team.  While at Powell skatepark they filmed a few clips to put together as a promo, check it out.  I definitely gave him the idea for that banger too.

Owen Does Ohio

Another in the "Word from Owen" series that Tommy has been doing for a couple weeks now.  This time includes footage from several different places in Ohio and at Northbrook in Chicago.  Owen, also known as "Yemish Ricottish," landed the banger of the trip with that sick doublewhip up the euro, nice job dude!

Ohio Boyz!

As you may know, a bunch of guys from Chicago, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Michigan met up today with some Ohio locals for a weekend of shredding.  After driving about 6 hours from Chicago in a fairly constant torrent of rain (4 to Chicago as well for me last night) to Columbus, Ohio, we met at our hotel and planned out where to ride for the night in order to avoid the rain.  We finally decided on Ollie's Skatepark, and drove two more hours (also in the rain) south to Florence, Kentucky to sesh one of the best indoors in the country.  Even though our session was short lived (thanks Tommy Daddono and Matt Rittler), we definitely had a lot of fun and a couple of us filmed a few tricks.  It was pretty crazy being at one of the skateparks I've been seeing in Midwest videos for a long time, and remember all the tricks that have been done there.  After we were kicked out of that place we got some supper at Wendy's, then drove the rest of the two hours home in, yes, more rain.  Tomorrow calls for a 30% chance of rain so we're all crossing our fingers that we'll be able to ride outside, whether park or street.  If not, Ohio Dreams will be next on the hit list.  Keep checking Midwest Scoot for more updates on what we're up to.

Kirk Svensson.

Kirkulees. A name you most likely have heard of. He is one of the few Chicagoland riders that can really call his style street influenced. I met Kirk for the first time a few weeks ago at the Pitch Bikepark scooter competition. He managed to place first in intermediate with some great riding. Keep your eye out for him as the summer goes on, I believe he will soon be a big name within the midwest scene.

I had a few words with Kirk, you can view them below.

How long have you been riding and how did you start?

umm, ive been riding for a bit under 2 years? im not to sure,
i broke my arm skateboarding one year, and one day just picked up a scooter after it heald up and idk, just been riding ever since
haha

Did you used to, or do you currently look up to any riders? Anyone that inspires you or pumps you up to go even bigger?

oooooo best rider ever is Georgie Louis! his style is justt soooooo amazing
and otehr than that Matt mckeen
and dodorian robison

As anyone from the midwest knows, your riding consists of 99% street. I guess that explains your choice of inspirations. However I've noticed you've started riding more and more park. Are you starting to change up your riding style, moving away from the street style a bit?

hahaha, nah i mean i always on the weekdays go to a park when i can and i mean i just decided to like sesh up the spine and just came out with some new tricks hahaha, in the summer its about to be 24/7 street ahhaha

Good to hear, I think our sport will continue to look more legit the more street riders we have.
I think that about wraps it up, thank you for your words Kirk, is there anything else you'd like to say?

yup street=the gravy on the steak.
:):)

Kirk recently put out a video of his park riding, were you can view him shredding a spine (a very rare sight). Posted below is the video for your viewing pleasure.

Northbrook Edit

As some of the Chicagoland and Wisconsin riders know, last weekend was the Pitch Bikepark Scooter comp. After the comp a bunch of the riders headed over to Northbrook Skatepark for a night session. A.J. Lohens decided to film some of the bangers, and the video turned out great. Riders such as Marty Stubben, Joeseph Flowers, and Justin Lacosse threw down some awesome tricks. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the dubstep.

Midwest Scoots.

The Midwest.  An area widely unknown and unappreciated by most riders in the world, an area featuring a small but talented number of riders.  Some extremely talented riders in fact.  Matt Andrus, Dylan Kasson, Josh Young, all are legends that got their start in the Midwest.  The beauty about it is the MW covers such a wide area and a variety of terrain that the riders who live here might happen to be park killers, street shredders, or just all around beasts.  The few riders I mentioned have already risen (at some point in time) to the top of the sport…and there are more just waiting to be discovered.  Like “Shorty” Devin Heald, from Davenport, IA, or Racine, WI local Joe Flowers.  That is the reason why I’m starting this site.  To showcase the known and unknown riders of the MW, to bring MW riders content that appeals directly to them.  Our scene is still small, but constantly growing.  It is my hope that MW Scoots will have a positive impact on the scene, and that you will come here to get your MW fix.  I will be posting pretty much any videos from the Midwest, don’t be afraid to send yours in if you don’t think its “IS quality.”  This isn’t IS, I want to give some of the newer guys a chance to shine here. That will about cover it for now, thanks for reading, check back soon and check back often.

The MW Scoots team is:  Jordan Jasa and Tommy Daddono.
